ABOUT BULGARIA
Bulgaria is a part of the Balkan Peninsula in South Eastern Europe. The state of Bulgaria was first founded in 681 AD and is a country of ancient culture, picturesque nature, authentic music and folklore. The Bulgarian land is a place of rich cultural heritage – ancient ruins, medieval churches and monasteries, architecture of the Bulgarian national revival.
Sofia is a city that grows but never ages. Founded over 7000 years ago, Bulgaria's modern capital testifies to the country's eternal bond between past and present. Monuments to its rich Thracian, Roman, Bulgar and Ottoman history rub shoulders with modern-day edifices of cosmopolitan city life. Over 250 historic landmarks and architectural monuments blend in with the city's modern skyline.

PASPOSTS AND VISAS
Only valid passports or identity cards are required from all the EC countries. Participants from countries, where visa is normally required for entry to Bulgaria, are reminded that they will need to obtain one from the appropriate Bulgarian Embassy/Consulate.

CLIMATE
Moderate climate: mild spring and autumn, hot summer, cold snowy winters. The weather at the middle of July is warm and sunny. Daily temperatures range from 25 to 30o C and night temperatures are about 15o degrees lower.

MONETARY SYSTEM
The national currency is the Bulgarian Lev - BGN. Bank notes of the following denominations are in circulation: 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 BGN. 1 Euro = 1,95583 BGN.

TRANSPORTATION
Transfers Sofia Airport – Borovets - Sofia Airport will be organized free of charge as follows: Arrival transfers – on 11 and 13 July – between 12:00 and 24:00h.
Departure transfers – on 16 July – 18:00h. and on 17 July – all day.
Individual transfer (at a time/date different from the schedule above) can be organized at the price of 50 Euro for a car.
Precise travel information should be given to CIM. The organization of the departure transfers will be coordinated by the transport team of CIM Ltd.

OFFICIAL AGENT
The Company for International Meetings is authorized to organize all logistical services for the Conference.

REGISTRATION
Participants are kindly requested to fill in and send their registration forms to the Official agent of the Conference by 01 May 2010.

REGISTRATION DESK
The Registration Desk will be located next to the Plenary Hall and will stay open till the end of the conference. Upon registration, all delegates will receive their identification badges and working materials. Participants can address the CIM representatives for information on hotel accommodation, transportation, working programme and social events.

WORKING LANGUANGES
The official language of the conference is English.
